Missbunny wishes everyone safe travels and a very Merry Christmas; she will be back again in the new year.
Missbunny has just gotten her bags off the luggage carousel when I snapped this picture of her. She will be spending Christmas in a cooler place than here and take the opportunity to sightsee a bit, lucky bunny!

It's the June holidays and Missbunny travelled with me to one of my favorite destinations and see some amazing sceneries. Stay tuned for more photos. The desert sunset was beautiful as we drove our way towards Nevada county. When we arrived in Las Vegas, it was already dark. And it was perfect! Missbunny could clearly see the lights and glitz of Vegas city. She could hardly sleep for the excitement she feels being in Las Vegas. The next day, she walked the Strip and admired the huge hotels and billboards. In the evening, it's time to hit the slot machines. Sadly, Missbunny did not hit any jackpot. Oh well, she couldn't buy anything expensive in the shops of the hotel. Just a bar of chocolate. But Missbunny was contented. Chocolates are the best! After a few days of Vegas and chocolates, we continued our journey towards Lake Tahoe. Los Angeles and Las Vegas both seemed like busy cities to Missbunny, so she actually liked to relax for a bit during her holiday. What better place to do this than in Lake Tahoe. It was about 7 hour drive from Las Vegas. About halfway through the long drive, of which we were still in Nevada county, we stopped to admire Walker Lake. During her stay in Lake Tahoe, Missbunny felt she was in another world. It was so peaceful. She was surrounded by greenery, and snow. The air was crisp and fresh. The views of mountains and water were awesome. Missbunny daydreamed that she has her own holiday cabin in Lake Tahoe. She can go there in winter to ski and toast s'mores; in summer, she can go fishing and bicycling. It would be a wonderful life. Back to reality, it was a few more days before we were due to head back home. Missbunny spent the rest of our holiday time in the charming city of San Francisco. Sadly all good things must come to an end. Missbunny learned a few new things while she was in America: 1). Food there was diverse (best guacamole ever!), delicious, and not expensive. The servings were so generous, she could never finish a meal all by herself. Except desserts. 2). She can spend a whole day browsing in the supermarket (hello Whole Foods and Target!). 3). Everyone drove on the wrong side of the street...well, that is according to Missbunny's world. I just managed to compile Missbunny's latest holiday photos, so here is the continuation of the story from my previous post. 2 weeks before Christmas, Missbunny flew more than 15 hours across the Pacific Ocean to USA. It was a gloomy and wet day when the plane took off, but the weather did not dampen Missbunny's excited mood for one bit. She will be staying around the west coast of USA. Los Angeles was her first stop. Missbunny did not get a decent sleep on the plane as she was too caught up with the in-flight entertainment. She arrived in LA in the late afternoon and tried very hard to stay awake until her usual bedtime hour. After sleeping 12 hours and feeling less like a zombie, Missbunny headed to Route 66 Santa Monica beach for some fresh air and winter sun. She did all the touristy things expected when one is in LA. Missbunny loves movies, so she did not miss the chance to pay homage to Tinseltown (Hollywood). After spending a few days in LA, Missbunny proudly stood in front of a sign she saw at some beachfront shop and decided she needed to follow this theme for the rest of year 2013 and into year 2014: The food servings in America are very generous, so Missbunny happily indulged herself in yummy sweet desserts, everyday. Next stop after LA is the Entertainment Capital of the World. Stay tuned for Part 2 of Missbunny's American adventure.
It's a wet day today but Missbunny is still very excited. We are going far and away this time. There will be more photos of Misbunny's latest trip coming soon. Hanami literally means "flower viewing" in Japanese. And that was what Missbunny decided she wanted to do in spring this year. Hanami is the Japanese traditional custom in spring of enjoying the beauty of flowers, and the "flowers" in this case is usually the sakura or cherry blossoms. So where did Missbunny go for hanami earlier in March? Not too hard to guess (actually you can enjoy the cherry blossoms viewing in other countries like Korea or cities like Washington D.C., but I am digressing). Missbunny's first stop was the island of Hokkaido, and the city of Sapporo. Before Missbunny got to enjoy the spring weather and flower watching, she went straight to cold winterland. Sapporo in March is not exactly the middle of winter, but the temperature can still go below zero on some days and when the sun disappears. There is the occasional light snowfall, but the snow at the sidewalks is thawing as Hokkaido enters spring season. By the time Missbunny arrived in Sapporo, it was night time. She couldn't fall asleep straight away as she was very excited at having arrived in Hokkaido, so she tried to calm herself down by enjoying Sapporo's city lights below her. "Oh, hello Sapporo", Missbunny thought when she looked out the window the next morning and could see the city properly in the daylight. After exploring Sapporo, Missbunny travelled the next day to Otaru, a small port city about half an hour from Sapporo. Missbunny posed in front of the Otaru Canal. The Canal used to be the city's busy port where goods were unloaded from ships and stored in the warehouses along the Canal. Now the warehouses are used for museums, shops and restaurants, and the path along the Canal makes for pleasant stroll which was what Missbunny did even though the temperature was minus 3 degrees (Celsius). After a few days in Sapporo, it's time for Missbunny to move on to her next destination for some serious snow activities. Niseko is a popular snow resort town in Hokkaido, and Missbunny couldn't wait to join in the things that the locals and the tourists like to do best in Niseko..... ....like snowboarding. Missbunny skied. She made snowmen. When the snow fell thick and fast, she stomped on the fresh snow and laid down to make snow angels. Yeah! She had lots of fun. She also got to taste the local produce and the best of Hokkaido's dairy. Missbunny had milk, cheese, and ice cream everyday. Missbunny made new friends with some of the local critters. She met the Snow-Warren white rabbits when she got a little lost while skiing. Nigel Snow-Warren helped Missbunny find her way back to the hotel. His daughter, Lisa Snow-Warren, even let Missbunny tried her new red snow sled. After all the fun and play she had in Niseko, it's time for Missbunny to have some R&R. We headed to Noboribetsu, Hokkaido's most famous hot-spring town, to meet Missbunny's auntie and relax for a bit. When Missbunny had enough of the cold weather, we travelled to Tokyo. It was a warm spring day in Tokyo, such a contrast to all the snow and cold in a matter of a few hours travel. The next day, we went to the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and Missbunny saw the beautiful cherry blossoms at last. We caught the tail end of the cherry blossoms season as the flowers bloomed earlier this year due to the unusually warm weather, but better late than not at all. Missbunny was joined by her aunt. They had a picnic underneath the blooming sakura tree, and afterwards strolled around the park admiring the flowers. It was a special experience for Missbunny and she was very glad she took the trouble to stopover in Tokyo before heading home. Check out more of Missbunny's hanami outing below:
Thanks to my friends who have been very very obliging, and letting me indulge in my hobby (some raising disbelieving eyebrows), I hope that I can add another series to my blog. I have asked my friends, local and overseas, to take photos of Missbunny in the country they are living or visiting with a famous landmark as Missbunny's background. Hopefully it's going to be like a postcard from Missbunny. This post is the first of such photos. I hope I will be able to continue this series and add more in the future. ** Thanks to VT for the photos **
